July 23, 2014

Conference Call

11:30 a.m.

Board Members present: Jewell Winn, Dalila Duarte, Patricia Burks-Jelk, Cassandra Anderson, Ramona Whitworth, La Kiesha Armstrong, Lisa Borre, Henrietta Kellum-Lusk, Shanna Jackson, Nancy Ramsey

V.Website Update

1) Publish bylaws and strategic plan to the website member log-in section
2) Annual Conference Save the Date announcement is announced on the website

VI.Charge by Dr. Apple-President’s Council and ACE Network Executive Council

  1. Request for membership assessment
  2. Nancy Ramsey emailed Membership Satisfaction Survey to board for review
  3. Projected date to distribute membership- August 15, 2014
  4. Board to provide feedback by reply all with edits to survey- due August 1st
  5. President Winn and Dr. Jackson met with Dr. Apple- recommendations

Actively recruit female leaders from all Tennessee institutions

Membership committee has disbursed list of all public and private Tennessee institutions (for profit and nonprofit schools)

Send email to all and make personal contact to

Cassandra contacted institutions in West TN to obtain mailed information packet to all West TN institutions.

Tiered WHET membership- price membership based on institution’s statistics (example:  FTE). Board to present ideas for August board meeting.  Goal- submit proposal at October annual meeting
Connie volunteered to research existing tier membership
President Winn sent a letter to Dr. Apple and Dr. Thomas to share with President’s Council as an invitation to participate on President’s panel

VII.West TN Regional Conference– September 5, 2014
Presenter – Dr. Lisa Cobb
Lunch will be provided.

Jackson State CC Student Hall 10-:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m.
Recommendation by President Winn to change time 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Regional events published on website for July and September

Annual Conference

  1. Keynote luncheon speaker-
  2. Registrants immediately receive an access code to complete test online before attending conference
  3. Committees to start planning immediately- committee reports to Henrietta Kellum-Lusk
  4. Strengths Finders test and results included as conference registration fee
  5. Lisa- Call for proposals
  6. Reception will be held on MTSU campus not hotel
  7. Board members solicit sponsors and vendor partnerships
  8. Hotel- Holiday Inn Express- Chaffin Drive,
  9. Vendor fee announced as $50 on the flyer- MTSU will charge a vendor fee and Connie will report back with MTSU’s charge
  10. Connie- Slideshow to highlight WHET 2014 activities and events to conference attendees before or during sessions
