Who We Are

Women in Higher Education in Tennessee (WHET)

WHET is a statewide organization dedicated to advancing the leadership and professional development of women across Tennessee’s colleges and universities. Whether working in faculty, staff, or administrative roles, WHET provides a community of support, mentorship, and opportunity for women at every stage of their career in higher education.

Founded in 1980, WHET has served as a connector and champion—offering annual conferences, networking events, scholarships, and leadership programming that inspire women to not only rise, but to bring others with them.We believe that representation, collaboration, and intentional development are essential to creating equitable and thriving institutions—and we work every day to make that a reality for women in our field.

Grounded in Purpose. Growing in Impact.
